Paint and Body Technician

Davey Coach Sales has an immediate opening for a Paint and Body Technician in our ever growing office in Cleburne, TX. The Paint & Body Technician is an intermediate-level technician capable of performing the majority of commercial vehicle paint & body repairs with limited supervision. This position requires 2–4 years of experience in automotive, heavy-duty truck/bus, or commercial vehicle body repair and refinishing.
Technicians at this level must be proficient in surface preparation, priming, dent repair, filler work, sanding, masking, disassembly, reassembly, and mid-level refinishing. They should be able to perform light to moderate body repair, basic fiberglass work, and partial paint work (panels, bumpers, blend panels). They must maintain a productivity level consistent with department standards.

Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Perform proper vehicle disassembly and reassembly for paint and repair operations.
• Prepare surfaces for paint using proper sanding, feather-edging, and priming methods.
• Execute light to moderate body repairs including dent repair, filler repair, and panel prep.
• Perform partial refinishes, blend panels, and small complete jobs under guidance.
• Assist A-Technicians with complex repairs and learn OEM-approved methods.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, respirator use, and booth protocol.
• Keep accurate repair notes and updates on work orders.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Protect company tools, equipment, and customer vehicles.
• Assist in training C-Technicians and apprentices in prep/repair basics.
• Review material usage and help identify supplement needs.

You will need to have:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years automotive or commercial paint & body experience.
• Familiarity with paint manufacturers (Axalta, PPG, Sherwin-Williams, BASF, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record; CDL is preferred.
